The Difference between Fluorine Lined Ball Valves and Ordinary ...

Ball valves, as a common fluid control equipment, play an important role in the industrial field. In the classification of ball valves, fluorine lined ball valves and ordinary ball valves are two common and significantly different types. This article will explore the differences between them to help readers better understand when to choose fluorine lined ball valves or ordinary ball valves.

1. Material selection

Ordinary ball valve: Usually made of metal, such as stainless steel, copper alloy, or cast iron. These materials have sufficient strength and corrosion resistance in many industrial applications.

Fluorine lined ball valve: It has an internal fluorine lining layer and usually uses fluoroplastics (such as polytetrafluoroethylene) as the inner layer material. This design makes it perform better in corrosive media.

2. Corrosion resistance performance

Ordinary ball valve: For some highly corrosive media, ordinary ball valves may require additional anti-corrosion coatings or special alloy materials.

Fluorine lined ball valve: It has excellent corrosion resistance and is lined with a fluoroplastic layer, which can effectively resist corrosive media such as strong acids and alkalis.

3. Temperature Applicable Range

Ordinary ball valve: In some high-temperature environments, there may be performance degradation, and it is necessary to choose appropriate materials to meet the high-temperature requirements.

Fluorine lined ball valve: Cannot be used in places with excessively high temperatures, usually not exceeding 150 ℃.

4. Sealing performance

Ordinary ball valve: Due to the contact between metals, the sealing performance may be relatively low, requiring reliance on sealing rings or fillers.

Fluorine lined ball valve: The combination of spherical and fluorine lined materials provides excellent sealing performance and reduces the risk of leakage.

5. Application field

Ordinary ball valve: Suitable for general industrial applications with low corrosion requirements.

Fluorine lined ball valve: Mainly used in the treatment of highly corrosive media, such as chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical and other fields.

Fluorine-lined valves, anti-corrosion valves, corrosion-resistant special valves

Introduction to fluorine-lined valves and corrosion-resistant valves:
Fluorine-lined valve, also known as fluorine-lined plastic corrosion-resistant valve, is a method of molding (or inlaying) polytetrafluoroethylene resin and placing it on the inner wall of the valve pressure part or the outer surface of the valve inner part. (The same method applies to all The lining of similar pressure vessels and pipeline accessories), using its unique performance in resisting strong corrosive media, is made into a special corrosion-resistant valve. Simply put, fluorine-lined valve is to use the lining process for all the places in the valve body that the medium can reach.

The lining material of fluorine-lined valves generally adopts FEP (F46) and PCTFE (F3) and other fluoroplastics,

which can be applied to various concentrations of sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, aqua regia and various organic acids, strong acids, strong oxidants and others Corrosive media and other pipelines, but fluorine-lined valves are relatively limited by temperature, and are only suitable for media between -50°C and 150°C.
