Advantages and Disadvantages of Pasted Ceramic Lining

The two commonly used methods for installing wear-resistant ceramic lining in wear-resistant ceramic pipes are direct pasting and welding. Both methods can extend the service life of transportation pipelines and protect the inner wall steel from direct impact wear and material corrosion. However, they differ in cost, process, and usage effect. Let's explore the advantages and disadvantages of pasted ceramic liners and welded ceramic liners in wear-resistant ceramic pipes.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Pasted Ceramic Lining

The advantages of pasted wear-resistant ceramic lining include relatively low construction costs and a simple installation process. This method can be used in small pipe diameters of approximately 108mm and can be installed even in equipment with slightly complex internal structures. However, the disadvantage is that the connection between the ceramic and the equipment mainly relies on ceramic adhesive. Even with high-temperature adhesive, the temperature resistance is about 220 degrees Celsius. If the temperature exceeds this, the wear-resistant ceramic in the pipeline may fall off under continuous material impact. Therefore, pasted wear-resistant ceramic lining is not suitable for high temperature and strong impact environments.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Welded Ceramic Lining

The advantages of weld-type wear-resistant ceramic lining include its ability to combine welding and inorganic adhesive, allowing it to operate normally at high temperatures of up to 700 degrees Celsius. Additionally, because the fixing method is more secure, it can be used in high-speed machines and other moving parts affected by significant impact. Consequently, its wear resistance and impact resistance are relatively better. The downside is that the construction cost is higher, the process is more complex, labor costs are steeper, and welding equipment is required. Moreover, this method cannot be used in pipes with small diameters.
